Welcome to the online course Local Economic Development for Cohesive Territories, organized by the committee on local economic and social development of United Cities and Local Governments (UCGL), in association with the ILO, FAMSI and UCLG Learning. The idea behind this course is that local development strategies can promote territorial cohesion, that is, development based on the common good or common interest, and governed by principles such as dialogue, equality, community belonging, social justice, sustainability and, ultimately, the idea that no one should be left behind.
This course is aimed at sharing, analyzing, debating and generating ideas that can be applied by local and regional actors in the generation of local economic development strategies for socioeconomic reactivation, in a global context of great uncertainty and with great social, economic and environmental challenges.
